Curtis Gong is a developing amateur racer who competed in national solo sprint racing across spec Mazda Miata classes, primarily driving for Mazda Miata. His career spans five indexed seasons from 2008 to 2022, with starts in NASA, SCCA Majors and SCCA Regionals; these multiclass championships mix amateur and semi-professional entrants on the same grid.[1]

Gong took two podiums from 39 starts across his career. He raced NASA's Spec Miata class from 2008 to 2010, collecting one podium in 31 starts, then returned to racing in 2021 after an eleven-year gap to contest SCCA Majors and SCCA Regionals in the SM class, earning his second podium in six Majors starts before finishing 94th in the SCCA Regionals championship standings in 2022.[2]

His regular opponents include Clement Lee, a competitive amateur with substantially more experience in these series who typically finished ahead of Gong, and Bill Nelson, a developing driver against whom Gong usually finished ahead. Gong has beaten semi-professional drivers Tyler Vance seven times across NASA and SCCA racing and Boris Said Jr three times in SCCA Majors, though both drivers have far more extensive records in their respective series and higher-level competition; Vance has raced NASA 73 times and Said Jr competed in Trans-Am TA2.
