Erich Gradle is a developing driver competing in the NASA championship, a national multiclass endurance series where solo drivers in different classes race together on the same track. Gradle raced in the CMC class, piloting an American pony car with limited modifications, for Pontiac FireChicken in 2014.[1]

Gradle's indexed record spans a single season of seven starts in NASA's CMC class, during which he took one podium finish and ended the year 26th in the championship standings. He finished ahead of Dustin Mozader, a club-level NASA regular with 70 starts across the series, twice; he also beat Joe Bogetich, a semi-professional driver, once. Against Bryan Curtis and Mozader, both regular opponents, Gradle typically finished behind them.[2]

Gradle raced in a field that mixed amateur and semi-professional entrants with graded professionals. Against the club-level drivers who made up most of the CMC grid, he showed competitive pace in moments; most of his season, however, was spent finishing behind the more established regulars in his class.
