Jim Walsh races club-level single-seater Porsches in national multiclass sprint racing. His primary indexed record spans PCA Club Racing from 2006 to 2011, where he took three wins across the GTC3 and GTC5 classes in a mixed-amateur-and-professional field. He currently competes in the Porsche Sprint Challenge USA West 992 M class for Competition Motorsports.[1]

Walsh finished second in the 2025 Porsche Sprint Challenge USA West championship standings with three podiums from four rounds. His record in PCA Club Racing shows ten podiums across 14 starts over five seasons; he regularly outfinished Pete Altmann and ran closely with Donald E Pickering, both developing-level regulars in the same series. His strongest scalp is Scott Blind, an entry-level professional and reigning Porsche Sprint Challenge USA West 992 M champion, whom Walsh beat once.[2]

Walsh holds a club rating of 1,806 and sits in a field that has included entry-level professionals with significant Porsche and GT racing credentials. Blind's presence as the series champion makes Walsh's podium finishes in 2025 his most competitive recent results; he has also beaten Kyle Washington, another entry-level professional with extensive GT and Carrera Cup racing. His two-decade gap between the end of PCA Club Racing in 2011 and his return to indexed racing in 2025 means his competitive standing rests primarily on his current season's performance against Blind and the other professionals in the Porsche Sprint Challenge field.
