John Niedernhofer is a developing driver racing in NASA, a multiclass amateur and professional championship held in the United States. He drives a Porsche 944 in the 944 Spec class, running primarily for that marque's programme. Over 17 seasons from 2009 to the present, he has completed 103 starts across NASA competition.[1]
Niedernhofer has taken five wins and 31 podiums in his time with the series. His 2026 season, still in progress with nine rounds completed, has yielded one podium finish; he currently sits tenth in the championship standings. His record shows consistent mid-field pace against a regular grid of developing and semi-professional drivers; he has raced closely with fellow developing drivers Thomas Atteberry and Jim Richmond on multiple occasions, splitting results with both. He has finished ahead of Christopher Allen, an entry-level professional graded in bronze by the FIA with experience across NASA and international endurance racing, seven times, and has beaten Marcelo Vine, a semi-professional, eight times.[2]
