Kenneth Newton competed at club level in the SCCA Regionals, a national multiclass championship where amateur and semi-professional drivers share a track across 25 classes. Newton raced the IT7 class solo and took the 2022 SCCA Regionals championship in his only indexed season, his first and last year of racing on record.[1]
Newton won six races from fourteen starts and finished on the podium in all fourteen rounds. He beat developing drivers Dick Patullo and George Farrar consistently throughout the season, both regular opponents he finished ahead of in most meetings. He also defeated competitive amateurs Ian Johnson and Michael Lavigne three times each across the year.[2]
