Molaver was a competitive amateur in a field that included developing drivers, club racers, and professionals with national and international credentials. He regularly finished ahead of club-level regular opponents including Ken Wilkinson and Jimmy Myers, both of whom raced NASA extensively. He also beat Robert Noaker, a FIA Silver professional and Mustang Challenge champion, on six occasions across their head-to-head meetings.
