Chris Benoist was a developing-level amateur racer whose rating of 1,043 places him at the entry end of club racing, competing in fields that did not meet the calibre of full professional motorsport. Over four seasons from 2017 to 2020, he made 13 starts across two series, with his sole victory coming in NASA competition in 2019. His average finishing position of P4.9 reflects inconsistent performances typical of a driver still establishing consistency at amateur level.[1]

Benoist's limited results against established competition show mixed outcomes. He finished ahead of semi-professional and professional drivers including Michael Tinis (twice), Doug Winston (twice), and individual efforts against Ryan Hall and Alex Vogel, all notably stronger competitors. However, his head-to-head records against most frequent rivals read as one-sided losses; he never finished ahead of Alex Rubenstein, a three-time American Endurance Racing Class 4 champion, and went 0–3 against Van Svenson. Against Mark Petronis, the 2019 NASA Super Touring 2 champion, he split four races evenly at 2–2. These results place him firmly outside the professional tier, beating stronger drivers occasionally rather than establishing himself as their equal.

His NASA campaign in 2019 was his peak, yielding one win and three podiums from seven starts to finish fifth in points; his American Endurance Racing participation from 2017 to 2020 produced no podiums across six starts. Benoist is retired from racing and has not competed since 2019.
