🇹🇭 Chen Jian Hong

Chen Jian Hong is a club-level racing driver who competed in endurance racing at the Nürburgring 24 Hours between 2019 and 2023. His rating of 1,407 places him in the developing category, describing a driver with consistent results in club and regional racing rather than among established professionals. Across five starts in the Nürburgring 24 Hours, all with Toyota Gazoo Racing Team Thailand, Chen compiled three wins and five podium finishes, an exceptional strike rate that reflects success in a specific endurance event rather than sustained competition at a higher level.[1]

The competitive context reveals Chen's standing among his peers. He regularly finished ahead of FIA Bronze-graded drivers such as Nattavude Charoensukhawatana, whom he beat in three of four shared races despite Charoensukhawatana holding a rating nearly double his own. Against other rivals graded FIA Silver, Chen maintained a consistent head-to-head advantage, finishing ahead of drivers including Manat Kulapalanont and Nattapong Hortongkum in three of four encounters each. His average finishing position across all classified starts was 1.6, and his strongest individual result came against Mikhail Charoudin, a driver rated in the semi-professional band. These records show Chen competing effectively within a narrow field of endurance racers, consistently outpacing peers at his own level and occasionally beating stronger drivers in the context of team-based 24-hour racing.[2]

Chen retired from racing after his final appearance in the 2023 Nürburgring 24 Hours, concluding a five-year career focused almost entirely on a single endurance event. He was an owner-driver and founder of TS Motor Sport, a Taiwan-based suspension manufacturer, a background that explains his participation in Toyota Gazoo Racing's Thailand-based effort rather than a path through traditional single-seater or touring car progression. His career represents specialist success in a demanding and prestigious endurance format rather than progression through the racing ladder.
