Dan McMullen was a Canadian driver whose recorded racing career consisted of a single season in 2005. He started one race in the Star Mazda Championship for Team Bucknum Racing, finishing 30th in that sole outing. His Racer Rating of 2,756 places him in the competitive amateur band, the level of quick club racers and entry-level professional fields.[1]

That single Star Mazda start carried context beyond its result. McMullen finished ahead of several drivers who would go on to establish themselves at considerably higher levels: Adrian Carrio, who won the 2005 Star Mazda Championship; Luis Schiavo, champion of the series in 2003; Sean Guthrie, a professional front-runner; and Mark Patterson, an FIA Bronze-graded sportscar driver. Beating such a field in one appearance was notable, though a single race provides insufficient evidence of a consistent pattern. McMullen raced for Team Bucknum Racing, a team with minimal wins across its record but one that fielded drivers of mixed capability. He has been retired from active racing since that 2005 season.
