Daniel Records is a club-level driver who raced in NASA, a national multiclass championship where amateur and semi-professional entrants share the track with graded professionals. He drove a Ford Mustang in the CMC class, which runs American pony cars with limited modifications.[1]

He scored five wins and nineteen podiums, with his best season in 2020, when he won twice, took eight podiums, and finished seventh in the championship standings. His primary machinery was a Ford Mustang, the same car fielded by an established operation that has run 231 drivers and produced a professional in Chandler Smith.[2]
The field he raced in included John Martin, a competitive amateur and 2013 WEC LMP2 champion with experience in IMSA WeatherTech, whom Records ran closely with over their shared NASA starts and finished ahead of on multiple occasions.
