David Carmendy holds a Racer Rating of 2,522, placing him in the competitive amateur band; this level describes club and regional racing, where drivers compete on real competition licences in fields that do not include the very top professionals. His record spans a single season in 2006, with one race appearance at the SKUSA SuperNationals. He finished nineteenth in that event, the sole classified result of his documented racing career.[1]
The field at Carmendy's single SuperNationals appearance included drivers of varying calibre. He finished ahead of Logan Gomez, a professional-level driver rated 3,890, along with semi-professional competitors Ron White and Alan Sciuto and fellow amateur Mike Beeny. These individual results represent isolated performances rather than a sustained pattern against drivers of Gomez's standing; Carmendy's sole outing against a much stronger field showed him capable of competitive finishes but provided insufficient evidence of a broader capacity to run with that class regularly. Carmendy is now retired from competitive racing.
