Gary Ellis is a developing-level driver racing in national multiclass sprint series in the United States. He competes in spec Mazda Miata classes, having raced NASA's Spec Miata and PTE classes between 2013 and 2016 before returning to SCCA Regionals' SM class in 2022.[1]

Across six seasons on record, Ellis has made 12 starts and taken one podium finish. His NASA career ran from 2013 to 2016 with seven starts in production-based machinery; he returned to racing in 2022 with SCCA Regionals, where he has made five starts and earned a podium. In his most recent campaign, Ellis finished 94th in the SCCA Regionals championship standings after two rounds.[2]

Ellis races in multiclass fields mixing amateurs with semi-professionals and graded professionals, though his record places him among the less frequent competitors at his level. He typically finishes behind regular opponents such as Frank Todaro and John Guthrie, both club-level drivers with substantial NASA and SCCA experience. He has finished ahead of Will Dodd, a competitive amateur with 77 NASA starts, on four occasions, and has one result ahead of Chase McIntyre, a semi-professional with 32 SCCA Regionals starts.
