Herbert Gomez is a developing driver racing in national multiclass amateur and semi-professional championships in the United States. He races production-based cars in the ITA class of SCCA Regionals, where he has been active since 2023, and previously competed in the Honda Challenge 1 class in NASA's multiclass series in 2012.[1]
Gomez has taken two wins and three podiums across 16 career starts. His recent activity is in SCCA Regionals, where he has contested nine rounds in 2025, taking one win and two podiums while finishing 18th in the championship standings. His earlier NASA campaign in 2012 yielded four starts without a podium finish.[2]
In SCCA Regionals, Gomez regularly races against club-level drivers with substantial series experience, including Cesar Ochoa and Albert Lazo, both of whom have nearly 40 starts in the class. He typically finishes behind both drivers, though he has beaten Lazo twice and has also taken a result ahead of competitive amateur Alec King.
