James Slechta is a developing driver racing in national-level multiclass sprint championships in the United States. He competes in SCCA Majors and SCCA Runoffs, driving production-based performance cars in the STU class, and has also raced in NASA's PTE class and SCCA Regionals. His most recent activity was the 2025 SCCA Runoffs.[1]
Slechta has accumulated 33 starts across seven seasons from 2009 to 2026, with three podiums. The bulk of his racing has come in SCCA Majors, where he has made 23 starts and taken two podiums since 2021. He also has a podium finish in SCCA Regionals and has contested the SCCA Runoffs on four occasions.[2]
His record places him in a field mixing amateurs and semi-professionals with entry-level professionals. He finishes regularly behind Jorge Nazario, a club-level driver who is a frequent opponent in SCCA Majors and Runoffs. Against Michael Reece, another developing driver, the results are closely matched. Slechta has beaten Ethan Tovo, an entry-level professional with Trans-Am TA2 and TGRNA GR Cup experience, once, and has finished ahead of Anthony Geraci, a 2025 GT4 America Am champion with 42 SCCA Majors starts, on two occasions.
