🏳️ John Grillos

John Grillos is a developing driver who raced in NASA, a national multiclass championship mixing amateur and professional competitors on road courses and street circuits across the United States. He drove production-based Mazda Miatas in spec trim and power-to-weight-classed machinery over a career spanning nine years from 2010 to 2019, latterly for a single-car operation.[1]

Across 68 starts, Grillos took four podiums. He finished 107th in the championship standings in his final season, 2019. His most consistent racing came against club and developing drivers who were regular competitors in the same series; he ran closely with Dennis Clark, a developing driver with 82 NASA starts, and usually finished behind Aaron Braverman, a club-level regular with 170 starts. He beat Parker Chase, a professional graded Silver driver with 31 IMSA Pilot Challenge starts and 14 ARCA Menards Series starts, on three occasions. He finished ahead of Dakota Dickerson, a professional Silver-graded driver and 2019 Formula Regional Americas champion with 18 IMSA Prototype Challenge starts, once.[2]
