JP Southern Jr. is a club-level driver, ranked 1,968 on the Elo scale; this places him among developing and competitive amateur racers, typically competing in regional and club racing rather than professional series. His recorded career consists of a single start in the 2014 SKUSA SuperNationals, where he finished twenty-sixth and did not place on the podium.[1]
In that sole outing, Southern finished ahead of several drivers with higher Elo ratings, including Phillippe Denes, who holds FIA Silver grading and rates at 3,506 as an established professional, as well as semi-professional competitors Abby McLaughlin and Hunter Kelly. A single result against stronger opposition is not indicative of a sustained pattern, but it marks the only competitive context available from his recorded racing history.
Southern has been retired from racing since 2014.
