Kirk Theis is a developing driver with five seasons of racing on record in NASA, a multiclass American road-racing championship. Between 2005 and 2009 he contested 38 starts in the series, running both the CMC class in pony cars and the Spec Miata class in production-based single-seaters.[1]
Theis took two podiums across his 38 starts. His most recent season, in 2009, yielded a 77th-place finish in the championship standings. Among his regular opponents were Ed Hamilton and Kevin Margetta, developing drivers of similar standing in the same series whom he raced closely throughout his time in NASA. His strongest finishes came against entry-level professionals and semi-professionals; he beat entry-level professional Tim Spurgeon once and semi-professional Tyler Vance once in direct competition.[2]
