Galappatti was a developing-level driver racing in NASA, a multiclass national championship mixing amateur and semi-professional entrants across fifteen classes in a single race. He competed in the Spec E30 class, driving a spec BMW E30 3-series, and raced for two seasons from 2011 to 2012.[1]
Galappatti made fourteen starts across his career and took one podium finish. He finished fortieth in the 2012 NASA championship standings, the final season of his indexed racing. His record against regular opponents was against Sean Curran, a club-level driver he typically finished behind, and Robert Grace, a semi-professional with over two hundred NASA starts who he also usually ran behind. He finished ahead of Grace twice in their head-to-head meetings and beat Jeff Caldwell, a club driver who would later win American Endurance Racing championships, on two occasions as well.[2]
