Liam Downey is a developing-level driver who raced in NASA, a multiclass national championship mixing amateur and semi-professional entrants across 15 classes in a single race format. He competed in the Super Touring 4 class, driving a Honda Civic EG, and is now retired.[1]
Downey's indexed racing career consists of a single season in 2019, when he started nine times in NASA and finished 15th in the championship standings. He beat semi-professional Ian Barberi once across their meetings and took one result ahead of competitive amateur Greg Tolson, though these were isolated results against drivers he did not typically finish in front of.[2]
His regular competition in the Super Touring 4 class included club-level driver Justin Sprugasci, who he usually finished behind, and developing-level driver George Kibilov, against whom he also trailed in most meetings. The Honda Civic EG he drove was fielded by a small operation that had not recorded a win across its indexed starts and had previously run another developing-level driver.
