Ian Barberi is a semi-professional racing in national multiclass sprint championships in the United States. He campaigns a BMW E36 M3 in NASA's Spec E30 and Super Touring classes, and competes in SCCA Majors, Regionals and Runoffs in GT2, STU and T1 production-based machinery across single-make and mixed-constructor grids. His primary team fields the E36 M3, in which Barberi has taken 17 of his 40 career starts.[1]

Over seven seasons from 2018 to 2026, Barberi has compiled eight wins and 24 podiums across a consistent mix of national club and amateur fields. His most prolific campaign came in the 2021 and 2022 SCCA seasons, where he won three times and took seven podiums in nine Majors starts. He has also raced the SCCA Runoffs and competed briefly in SCCA Regionals, where he took two podiums in three starts. In 2026 he moved to the Zenith Racing Series with NineFour Motorsports; that season remains in progress, but he leads the championship standings with one win and six podiums from eight rounds raced so far.[2]

Barberi's primary rivals are Martin Tagliavini and Jon Burgis, both developing drivers with 47 and 29 NASA starts respectively; he and both men are closely matched across repeated meetings. His strongest scalp on record is a win over James Taylor, a professional with 15 International Formula 3000 starts. He has also beaten Darren Dilley, an entry-level professional, once in their meetings.
