Frederic Yerly was a semi-professional endurance racing driver who competed in shared-car multiclass racing at the Nürburgring. Graded FIA Silver, he spent his career in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie and the Nürburgring 24 Hours, driving Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsports, Toyota GT86 cup cars, and turbocharged production-based racers across various classes. He raced primarily for Max Kruse Racing in the Langstrecken-Serie and for Scherer Sport PHX in the 24-hour endurance event.[1]
Yerly's record spanned eleven seasons from 2010 to 2023, with 28 starts yielding six wins and twenty podiums. The bulk of his racing came in the Langstrecken-Serie, where he took six wins and eighteen podium finishes across twenty-five starts. He was most active in the 2010s and returned to compete in the 24-hour race in the early 2020s, taking two podiums from three starts there. His best-known result came in 2021 when he was part of the European National Champions effort.[2]
In a field mixing amateurs and semi-professionals with professionals, Yerly typically finished ahead of competitive amateur opposition such as Alexander Müller and was closely matched with semi-professional rivals including 2017 Langstrecken-Serie Cup 4 champion Lucian Gavris. He took victories against professional-level drivers; he finished ahead of FIA Silver-graded Marc Basseng, a former Langstrecken-Serie champion with twenty-four World Touring Car Championship starts, and FIA Bronze-graded Artur Goroyan on multiple occasions in shared endurance grids.
