🏳️ Lucian Gavris

Lucian Gavris was a competitive amateur whose career centred entirely on the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie between 2014 and 2021. His rating of 2,514 places him in the competitive amateur band, meaning he was quick by club racing standards and raced regularly against paid professionals, though he did not establish himself among the top tier of semi-professional fields. Across 22 starts in the series, Gavris won 11 races and finished on the podium in 15 of them, giving him an average finishing position of second place. This rate of success built on a consistent head-to-head record; he finished ahead of his most frequent rivals, Jacques Derenne and Oliver Muytjens, in the vast majority of their shared races, and held his own against Manuel Amweg, a driver rated more than 400 points higher on the Elo scale.[1]

Gavris's strongest results came against the occasional elite visitor to the series. He beat Maxime Soulet, a Gold-graded professional, once, and finished ahead of Naoya Gamou, another Gold-graded competitor, in a single outing; he also defeated Hiroaki Ishiura, a Platinum-graded driver ranked among the top 600 in the world, on one occasion. These were isolated results rather than patterns of dominance, but they demonstrated that Gavris could deliver a strong performance on the day when the field included much stronger operators. His primary team was Car #533, in which he contested nine of his 22 races; that car won 15 races across all its drivers and was steered at the top end by Thomas Onslow-Cole, a semi-professional rated 4,355. Gavris secured the 2017 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie Cup 4 championship and raced sporadically into 2021, when he retired from active competition.
