Benjamin Leuchter is a professional racing driver competing in multiclass endurance racing, primarily in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie since 2011. He holds the FIA Silver grade for sportscar and endurance competition. His main series run through Falken Motorsports in the national German championship and Max Kruse Racing in the Nürburgring 24 Hours; he also competed in the FIA World Touring Car Cup for SLR Volkswagen in 2019, racing Volkswagen machinery across both road-course endurance cars and touring cars.[1]
Leuchter has won the 2017 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie championship with mathilda racing, driving Volkswagen cars across multiple classes in that series. He holds 17 wins and 28 podiums from 73 starts across his indexed career. His breakthrough into international touring car racing came in 2019 when he joined the FIA World Touring Car Cup grid; he finished 17th in the championship after 29 rounds, taking one victory and two further podiums. He has also competed in the 24H Series and Michelin 992 Endurance Cup, winning twice in the former and once in each of the Nürburgring 24 Hours in three victories there across six starts since 2021.[2]
On the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie grid he races alongside entry-level professionals and established competitors, closely matched with Tom Coronel, the FIA Gold-graded regular who has raced the World Touring Car Championship, and typically finishing behind Mikel Azcona, the 2022 FIA World Touring Car Cup champion. He has finished ahead of Thed Björk, the 2017 World Touring Car Championship title holder, on six occasions, and Daniel Abt, the Formula E and established professional, twice in their meetings.
