🇳🇱 Tom Coronel

Tom Coronel is an entry-level professional racing driver, FIA Gold graded, competing in endurance and touring car series. He races for ROAL Motorsport in the World Touring Car Championship, where he has spent the bulk of his career across 284 starts since 2005, and continues to compete in the FIA World Touring Car Cup, Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie and 24-hour endurance races in Porsche GT3 Cup and production-based machinery.[1]

Over 28 seasons and 448 starts across all indexed series, Coronel has taken 11 wins and 46 podiums. His primary record comes from touring car racing; he won six times in the World Touring Car Championship between 2005 and 2017 and claimed the Independents' Trophy in 2006 and 2009. In the FIA World Touring Car Cup from 2018 to 2022 he finished 11th in the 2022 championship standings with one win and four podiums across his time in the series. His endurance record spans the FIA GT Championship early in his career with three wins from 13 starts, and more recent work in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie and 24-hour events where he has taken four podiums across the German series and won the Nürburgring 24 Hours in 2019.[2]

In touring cars, his regular opponents have been Robert Huff, the 2012 World Touring Car Champion, and Gabriele Tarquini, the 2009 World Touring Car Champion, with whom Coronel has raced closely across multiple seasons. Beyond these peers, he has finished ahead of Mark Webber, an elite professional and 2016 WEC LMP1 champion, and António Félix da Costa, an established professional with Formula E and WEC LMP2 titles.
