🇫🇷 Yvan Muller

Yvan Muller is an established professional who spent the majority of his career in solo sprint touring car racing at the international level. He raced the World Touring Car Championship for twelve seasons from 2006 to 2017, primarily for Polestar Cyan Racing, and competed in the FIA World Touring Car Cup from 2018 until his retirement in 2022, driving for Cyan Racing Lynk & Co. He holds an FIA Gold grading, the full-professional standard in endurance racing.[1]

Muller won four World Touring Car Championships across his career: titles in 2008 with SEAT, 2010 and 2011 with Chevrolet, and 2013 with RML. He accumulated 48 wins and 128 podiums in the World Touring Car Championship across 252 starts, establishing himself as one of the series' dominant drivers during his tenure. In the FIA World Touring Car Cup he took eight wins and 29 podiums from 100 starts, though his final season in 2022 saw him finish 12th in the championship standings across eight rounds with a single podium. He also made nine starts in International Formula 3000 in 1993 and returned to racing in 2022 with a brief spell in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie multiclass endurance championship, where he won his sole start in the BMW M240i class.[2]

Muller's touring car career placed him among the series' strongest competitors. He regularly finished ahead of Tom Coronel, an entry-level professional and fellow Gold-graded driver with extensive touring car experience. Against Gabriele Tarquini, a professional-level driver and two-time touring car champion, Muller proved closely matched through their years racing together. His sustained success against Thed Björk, an established professional who won the 2017 World Touring Car Championship, saw him finish ahead of Björk in 64 completed races across their shared calendar.
