🇬🇧 Ben Hanley

Ben Hanley is an established professional competing in international endurance racing as a Gold-graded driver. He races LMP2 prototypes for United Autosports in the European Le Mans Series and World Endurance Championship, sharing the car with co-drivers across multiclass and single-class grids. His record spans 15 seasons from junior formula racing through to sportscar competition at the highest levels.[1]

Hanley's early career saw him win three races in Formula V8 3.5 for Prema Powerteam between 2005 and 2007, where he competed in a field including established and professional drivers. He moved through single-seaters with five starts in GP2 Series and two in Formula Renault Eurocup before stepping into endurance racing. His main focus has been IMSA WeatherTech, where he has taken five wins and nine podiums across 28 starts since 2017, and the European Le Mans Series, where he has scored a win and six podiums in 30 starts for United Autosports. He won the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech LMP2 championship and took the 2026 European Le Mans Series title. In the WEC, his 34 starts have yielded two podiums; he also competes in the Asian Le Mans Series, a field mixing amateur and semi-professional drivers with graded professionals, where he has logged one podium.[2]

Hanley regularly faces Paul-Loup Chatin, a Gold-graded professional and 2023 IMSA WeatherTech LMP2 champion, in roughly equal measure across endurance racing. Against Tom Dillmann, a fellow Gold-graded driver who has won the Formula V8 3.5 championship, Le Mans Cup and the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech LMP2 title, Hanley typically finishes behind him. In his brief outing in IndyCar, he finished ahead of Alex Palou, a five-time IndyCar champion and elite professional driver. He has also finished ahead of Sebastian Vettel, a four-time Formula 1 champion, twice in Formula V8 3.5. United Autosports, his team across 28 of his starts, has compiled 38 race wins in the index and has fielded Bruno Senna among its stronger drivers.
