John Andretti was an American professional race car driver and member of the renowned Andretti racing family. Son of Aldo Andretti and nephew of Mario Andretti, he competed across multiple racing disciplines throughout his career, achieving victories in CART, IMSA GTP, Rolex Sports Car Series, and NASCAR competition. His racing pedigree included cousins Michael and Jeff Andretti, as well as first cousin once-removed Marco Andretti, all of whom competed in open-wheel racing.[1]

Andretti's IndyCar career spanned from 2007 to 2011, during which he made 10 starts without securing wins or podium finishes. His most recent activity in the series came in 2011, when he finished 37th in a single round of competition. Andretti passed away on January 30, 2020, at the age of 56 following a battle with colon cancer, concluding a multifaceted professional racing career that had seen him compete successfully across various motorsport categories.[2]
