🇸🇪 Jimmy Eriksson

Jimmy Eriksson is a retired Swedish professional driver who raced single-seaters in the open-wheel ladder from 2009 to 2016. His indexed racing was concentrated in the GP3 Series, where he spent three full seasons with Koiranen GP and scored three wins and eight podiums across 47 starts. He held an FIA Silver grading, positioning him below the full-professional Gold and Platinum grades. His career also included two seasons in Formula 3 Euro Series, a brief spell in GP2 Series with Arden International, and four other single-seater starts at international level.[1]

Eriksson's best finish came in 2015, when he completed a full GP3 campaign and placed fifth in the championship with one win and three podiums from 18 rounds. His three career wins all came in GP3. Across 96 starts in the indexed single-seater series, he scored eight podiums. The 2016 GP2 Series outing with Arden produced his final indexed appearance; he has since retired from professional racing, though he contested touring car events under the Brink Motorsport banner in 2023 and 2024.[2]

In GP3, he raced regularly against Marvin Kirchhöfer, an established professional who typically finished ahead of him, and was closely matched with Alex Fontana, an entry-level professional with 51 GP3 starts to his name. The series drew fields mixing amateurs and semi-professionals with graded drivers; Eriksson finished ahead of Alex Palou, now a five-time IndyCar champion, in their encounters on the single-seater ladder.
