🇩🇪 Marco Wittmann

Marco Wittmann is an established professional driver competing in international sports car and endurance racing as an FIA Platinum-graded competitor for BMW M Team WRT. His primary series is the DTM, a national single-class sprint championship run in Germany, where he drives for Schubert Motorsport and has taken 10 wins and 31 podiums across 127 starts since 2018. He also competes regularly in endurance racing, including the FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA WeatherTech series, and holds the 2011 FIA Formula 3 European championship won with Signature.[1]

Wittmann's most substantial record lies in DTM, where he has been a consistent frontrunner for nearly a decade. His Formula 3 career was brief but successful; he won six times in 62 starts in the Euro Series and claimed the European championship in his final season after leading that title-deciding round. His move to DTM followed, establishing him in a series where he has finished in championship contention multiple times and maintains wins in recent seasons, including victories at Sachsenring in September 2026. In endurance racing, he has contested the World Endurance Championship since 2024 and taken podiums in IMSA and GT World Challenge Europe; he has also started seven Nürburgring 24 Hours entries since 2019, a race run in conjunction with the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie where he has won three times.[2]

Wittmann's rivals in DTM are consistently established professionals, most notably Sheldon van der Linde, with whom he races closely, and René Rast, a three-time DTM champion against whom Wittmann more often finishes behind. His endurance work brings him into competition with similarly graded professionals in shared-car events. Early in his career, Wittmann finished ahead of Max Verstappen, now a four-time Formula 1 world champion, in the 2011 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie; he has also defeated Liam Lawson, an elite professional with Formula 1 experience, multiple times in endurance competition.
