🇺🇸 Patrick Long

Patrick Long is an established professional racing driver, FIA Platinum graded, who spent his career in international and national endurance racing and multiclass competition. He raced primarily in the IMSA WeatherTech Championship driving GT3 cars for Wright Motorsports, with sustained campaigns in the FIA World Endurance Championship for Proton Competition and a single season in NASCAR Xfinity. His 14 seasons of indexed racing ran from 2007 to 2021.[1]

Long took five wins across his career: three in WEC and two in IMSA WeatherTech, where he collected 12 of his 18 career podiums from 58 starts. He was a regular fixture in IMSA's GTD class through the 2010s, building his record against a field mixing amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals. His two appearances in the FIA GT Championship came early in his career in 2007 and 2008, and he made a crossover attempt into NASCAR Xfinity in 2010 alongside a single German endurance start, neither yielding further commitments to those series. His final indexed appearance came in WEC in 2018, finishing 15th in the championship standings.[2]

Long's standing in endurance racing is marked by consistent performance against established competition. He regularly finished ahead of Andy Lally, himself a professional who has raced across multiple NASCAR series and IMSA, and ahead of elite single-seater drivers racing in endurance fields; Kyle Kirkwood, a champion of Indy Pro 2000 and Indy NXT who went on to IndyCar, finished behind Long in five meetings, as did Maro Engel, a Platinum-graded professional and 2024 GT World Challenge Europe champion. Long spent much of his IMSA career with Wright Motorsports, a stable team with multiple wins across its roster and a run of established drivers.
