Townsend Bell is a professional driver competing primarily in IMSA WeatherTech, where he races GT3 machinery for Vasser Sullivan Racing across both the GTD and GTDPRO classes. Gold-graded under the FIA's endurance racing classification, he has contested 20 seasons of racing since 2003, accumulating 98 starts across four championships: International Formula 3000, IndyCar, WEC and IMSA. He remains active in 2025.[1]

Bell's record spans a career built largely in endurance racing. His two wins came in different series: one from 55 IMSA starts dating to 2014, and one from three WEC appearances between 2015 and 2017, when he also recorded three podiums in the world championship. His earlier single-seater career included ten Formula 3000 starts with Arden International in 2003 and thirty IndyCar entries across thirteen seasons from 2004 to 2016, contested almost entirely on oval tracks. Across all series he has taken nine podiums from 98 starts. His most recent championship appearance came in 2017 WEC, where he finished ninth in the points with one podium from a partial campaign.[2]

Bell races regularly against established professionals in multiclass fields. His closest competitors are Andy Lally and Cooper MacNeil, both full-time IMSA drivers with whom he is evenly matched; Lally is Gold-graded, MacNeil Silver. He has beaten Kyle Kirkwood, the 2021 Indy NXT champion and an elite professional with over eighty IndyCar starts, twice in their meetings, and Austin Cindric, the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity champion, three times. Vasser Sullivan Racing, his team for the bulk of his IMSA career, has fielded 37 drivers across 16 race wins in the index.
