Kyle Kirkwood is an elite professional single-seater driver rated 6,919; this places him among the world's fastest active drivers and in the band of race winners at the highest levels of open-wheel racing. His career has followed a conventional path through junior formulae into IndyCar, where he has settled as a regular front-runner. He won three national or series championships in progression: Formula Regional Americas in 2018, the Indy Pro 2000 Championship in 2019, and Indy NXT in 2021, the last with ten wins and fourteen podiums in twenty starts for Andretti Autosport, a performance that marked him as an unusually strong prospect for the step to IndyCar.
