Kyle Kirkwood is an elite professional driver racing single-seater and prototype competition across North America. He holds FIA Gold grading for sportscar racing. He competes in the IndyCar Series for Andretti Global with Curb-Agajanian, driving the No. 27 Dallara-Honda, and races GT3 prototypes in IMSA WeatherTech endurance competition for Vasser Sullivan Racing.[1]

Kirkwood won the 2019 Indy Pro 2000 Championship with RP Motorsports Racing, taking nine wins from sixteen starts, and the 2021 Indy NXT title with Andretti Autosport on ten wins across twenty starts. He also claimed the 2018 Formula Regional Americas championship with four wins in five rounds. Since moving to IndyCar in 2022, he has taken seven wins and twelve podiums across eighty-six starts through 2026, with thirty-five of those starts on ovals and the remainder on road and street courses. In IMSA WeatherTech endurance racing, where he shares a GTD or GTDPRO class GT3 car, he has recorded three wins and four podiums from twenty-four starts; he has also competed in IMSA's Prototype Challenge LMP3 class, earning one win from four starts. A 2018 Formula Regional Americas victory came at a championship level mixing amateurs and professionals on equal terms, evidence of early progress against established competition.[2]

Kirkwood races regularly against elite-level opposition. He has split time closely with David Malukas, an elite professional with seventy-nine IndyCar starts and a championship-grade record across three single-seater series. He typically finishes ahead of Sting Ray Robb, a Gold-graded professional and 2020 Indy Pro 2000 champion who has contested IndyCar and Indy NXT at length. His career record includes nineteen finishes ahead of Alex Palou, a five-time IndyCar champion and Platinum-graded driver, and thirty-five ahead of Pato O'Ward, the elite professional and two-time champion with whom he has shared Andretti Autosport's IndyCar effort; the bulk of Kirkwood's wins came earlier in his career against O'Ward in lower-rung competition before O'Ward reached the front of the IndyCar field. In his 2026 season Kirkwood finished second in the IndyCar drivers' championship.
