Alex Dunne, an Irish driver competing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship for Rodin Motorsport as part of the Alpine Academy, is an established professional. He drives in a multiclass international series raced across 19 countries against a field mixing amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals. His rating of 6,171 places him in the established professional band, a level describing drivers who compete regularly against international opposition and hold their own against drivers of varying grades.[1]

Dunne won the 2022 British F4 championship with Hitech Grand Prix, taking 11 wins across 27 starts and finishing every round on the podium. He raced Italian F4 that same year for US Racing and finished second in its championship standings, adding three wins to his tally. His move through GB3 in 2023 yielded five wins in 21 starts. Formula 3 in 2024 brought two podiums across 20 starts with MP Motorsport, a step that proved more competitive. He has now completed two seasons in Formula 2 for Rodin Motorsport, taking two wins and thirteen podiums across 45 starts, with the 2026 season still in progress.[2]

A regular competitor against Gabriele Mini and Dino Beganovic, both established professionals with multiple championships between them and extensive single-seater experience, Dunne has run closely matched with each across multiple series. He has finished ahead of Andrea Kimi Antonelli, a generational talent and multiple champion now racing in Formula 1, multiple times across their shared Formula 4 seasons. His record in the upper single-seaters sets him in mid-field among a group of drivers contending for progression through the ladder.
