Andrea Kimi Antonelli races solo, single-seater machinery internationally, currently in Formula One for Mercedes. His Racer Rating of 8,120 places him in the generational band, the highest tier this database uses, and he carries an FIA Platinum categorisation, the higher of the sport's two full-professional grades in sportscar and endurance racing. Before reaching Mercedes he came up through Prema Racing's junior single-seater program, a team whose alumni include Charles Leclerc.[1]
Antonelli won the Italian F4 and ADAC Formula 4 titles with Prema Racing in 2022, then the Formula Regional European title with Prema in 2023. He spent 2024 in Formula 2, again with Prema, before moving to Mercedes in Formula One from 2025 and taking the 2026 world championship. His junior seasons carried a high win rate: thirteen wins from twenty-nine Italian F4 starts, nine from fifteen in ADAC F4, and five from nineteen in Formula Regional European. That rate dropped in Formula 2, where he took two wins from twenty-eight starts, before recovering in Formula One, where he has six wins and twelve podiums from thirty-five starts across his two seasons with Mercedes.[2]
His most frequent Formula One opponents are Oliver Bearman, an elite professional graded FIA Platinum who has won titles in Italian F4, ADAC Formula 4 and FIA Formula 3, and Isack Hadjar, also graded Platinum; against both he has run closely matched over a large body of races. He has also finished ahead of Lando Norris, the 2025 Formula One champion, and George Russell, the 2018 Formula 2 champion, eight times apiece.
