🇬🇧 Lando Norris

Lando Norris is a generational-level driver, FIA Platinum graded, currently rank two among active drivers on Racer DB's Elo-style scale. He races in Formula 1, solo single-seater competition, for McLaren, the team he has driven for across the whole of his 167 grand prix starts. His rating places him among the strongest drivers in the index, and his record reflects a career built through the sport's traditional single-seater ladder before reaching the top level.[1]

Norris came up through Carlin, winning the 2015 British F4 title with the team before adding the 2017 FIA Formula 3 European championship, also with Carlin, sandwiching a Formula Renault Eurocup title in 2016 with Josef Kaufmann Racing. He also raced a partial season of Formula 3 Macau and Italian F4 with Mücke Motorsport during his junior years, and spent two seasons in Formula 2 with Carlin before moving to Formula 1 in 2019. Since then he has taken 13 grand prix wins and 49 podiums for McLaren, and in 2025 won the Formula 1 World Drivers' Championship with the team.[2]

The field Norris races is one built around former champions and generational-level talent. George Russell, a champion of GB3, GP3 and Formula 2 before reaching Formula 1, is his most frequent rival, and the two have run closely matched across their careers, with Norris ahead in 98 of their meetings. He has also finished ahead of four-time Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen on 30 occasions, and regularly beats Alexander Albon, an established Formula 1 professional in his own right.
