🇦🇺 Oscar Piastri

Oscar Piastri races at a generational level, the highest band on Racer DB's Elo-style scale, and is currently ranked seventh among active drivers. He is FIA Platinum graded. He competes in Formula 1, an international, single-class championship raced solo, one driver per car, currently for McLaren, a team that also fields Lando Norris and has one of the stronger overall win records in the field.[1]

Piastri came up through British F4 with TRS Arden Junior Racing Team in 2017, then Formula Renault Eurocup with R-ace GP, where his fullest season came in 2019: seven wins and eleven podiums from nineteen rounds, finishing second in the championship standings. He moved to Prema Racing for Formula 3 in 2020, then won the 2021 Formula 2 championship with Prema, taking six wins and eleven podiums from twenty-three starts. Since 2023 he has raced in Formula 1 for McLaren, with nine wins and twenty-eight podiums from eighty-five starts.[2]

His most regular opposition in Formula 1 includes Logan Sargeant, an established professional with prior Formula 3 and Formula 2 experience, and Liam Lawson, an elite professional who came up through Formula 2 and Formula 3; Piastri usually finishes ahead of both. He has also finished ahead of George Russell, a champion of GB3, GP3 and Formula 2, and of his own teammate Lando Norris, a champion of British F4, Formula Renault Eurocup, FIA Formula 3 European and Formula 1.
