He drives solo across all his indexed racing.[1]
His early career saw him win 3 ADAC Formula 4 races from 20 starts in 2018, then progress to Formula 3 where he took 3 wins and 8 podiums over two seasons with Hitech Grand Prix. In Formula 2, his main campaign came in 2021 and 2022 for Carlin; he won 5 races and took 13 podiums across 51 starts, establishing himself as a regular competitor at that level. A brief DTM campaign in 2021 yielded 3 wins from 13 starts alongside his Formula 2 programme. His Formula 1 entry began in 2023 and continues through 2026; in 2023 he also contested Super Formula with Team Mugen, winning 3 of 9 races and finishing second in the championship standings.[2]

Against Oscar Piastri, the 2021 Formula 2 champion and fellow Formula 1 regular, Lawson usually finishes behind him, while he remains closely matched with established professional Richard Verschoor across their shared racing. His record shows a driver competing at the highest level of single-seater racing against champions and graded professionals.
