Valtteri Bottas is a Finnish driver who has competed in Formula 1 across 13 seasons, rising through junior formulas before joining the grid and later establishing himself as a race winner at the sport's highest level. Over the course of his career he has taken 10 wins and 59 podiums from 198 starts, and though he has not claimed a world championship, he finished runner-up in the Drivers' Championship in both 2019 and 2020 while driving for Mercedes, a stretch that remains the high point of his career to date.
