Nicklas Nielsen is an established professional racing driver rated 5,497, competing in international endurance racing and graded FIA Platinum. He drives for Ferrari AF Corse, piloting a Ferrari 499P in the WEC's Hypercar class. Nielsen has spent a decade in racing, beginning with single-seater competition in ADAC Formula 4 and moving into endurance racing from 2019 onwards, where he has become a fixture in the sport's premier championships.[1]

His career record spans 135 starts across five major series. In the WEC, where he has competed since 2019, he has taken 9 wins and 22 podiums from 49 starts, including the 2021 championship with AF Corse. He has won Le Mans twice, most recently in 2024 alongside Antonio Fuoco and Miguel Molina, becoming the third Danish driver to claim victory in the 24 Hours. Beyond the WEC, Nielsen has raced in GT World Challenge Europe, the European Le Mans Series in both LMGT3 and LMGTE classes, and IMSA WeatherTech, accumulating 2 wins in GT World Challenge and 1 win in each of the European Le Mans Series and IMSA. This season in the WEC, he sits third in the championship standings with one win and two podiums from six rounds so far.[2]

Nielsen's standing derives from regular competition against other established professionals at this level. He races closely matched against Raffaele Marciello, the 2023 GT World Challenge Europe champion and a three-time series champion who holds 78 GT World Challenge starts between them, and Paul Di Resta, a Formula 1 driver with 44 WEC starts who won the 2006 Formula 3 Euro Series. Nielsen has finished ahead of elite-level professionals including Alex Palou, a five-time IndyCar champion, and Pascal Wehrlein, the 2024 Formula E champion and a former Formula 1 driver, in individual races. His recent contract extension with Ferrari through a multiyear term reflects the team's confidence in his ability at Hypercar level.
