Fabio Scherer is a Gold-graded professional competing in multiclass endurance racing and GT3 competition for HRT Ford Racing. His record spans eleven seasons from 2016 to 2026, including single-seater campaigns in ADAC Formula 4, FIA Formula 3 European and Formula 3, alongside the endurance and touring-car racing that now forms the core of his career. His current focus is the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup and the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, the latter being a national-level GT championship in Germany.[1]
In the junior single-seaters, Scherer took two wins and seven podiums across 79 starts in ADAC Formula 4, FIA Formula 3 European and Formula 3 between 2016 and 2019. His primary success has come in endurance racing, where he has recorded three wins and four podiums in fifteen WEC starts with Nielsen Racing between 2021 and 2024, and one podium in twelve European Le Mans Series rounds with United Autosports. He also took a podium finish in six IMSA WeatherTech starts in 2022 and has raced the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and DTM. His 4,096 rating places him among professional-level drivers, specifically those competing in GT and endurance categories.[2]
Scherer's regular opponents in single-seaters included Juri Vips, an established professional who went on to FIA Formula 2, and Jonathan Aberdein, a professional competitor; Scherer usually finished behind Vips but remained closely matched with Aberdein. In longer-distance racing he has on occasion finished ahead of drivers of considerably higher standing, having beaten Max Verstappen once in what appears to have been a GT3 race and Álex Palou, an IndyCar champion, five times across his endurance campaigns.
