Alain Filhol is a French established professional who raced in single-seater and sports car championships in the mid-1990s. His indexed career spans two seasons, running to three starts between International Formula 3000 in 1995 and the FIA GT Championship in 1999, the latter an endurance series in which he shared a car with co-drivers.[1]
Filhol made two Formula 3000 starts for Gosselin Competition in 1995, then returned after a four-year absence to race once in the 1999 FIA GT Championship, where he finished 37th in the season standings.[2]
In Formula 3000, Filhol raced in a field that mixed semi-professional and professional drivers. He faced Jean-Philippe Belloc, who would go on to win the 1999 FIA GT Championship and later race at the highest levels of endurance competition, and consistently finished behind him. Filhol's single FIA GT outing came in a championship dominated by professional-graded drivers and established competitors, placing him among the field's lower finishers.
