🇧🇷 Marcos Gueiros

Marcos Gueiros was an established professional racing driver in the International Formula 3000 championship during the mid-1990s. Racing for Super Nova, he competed in a single-class field that mixed amateur, semi-professional and professional drivers across 18 starts between 1995 and 1996.[1]

Gueiros took three podium finishes across his two seasons, placing sixth in the 1996 championship standings. His results came against a field that included established professionals and drivers bound for higher categories; he beat Formula 1 entrant Cristiano da Matta on three occasions and finished ahead of Allan McNish, who would go on to race in Formula 1 and the World Endurance Championship, once.[2]

Against his most regular opponents, Gueiros held his own with FIA Silver graded Christophe Tinseau but typically finished behind Kenny Bräck, his Super Nova teammate who would become the 1998 IndyCar champion. His competitive standing reflected that of a professional operating consistently among established competitors; his peak came in his second season, when he scored all three of his podiums.
