Laurent Redon was an established professional racing in single-seater championships in Europe and the United States. He raced International Formula 3000 for Super Nova Racing, IndyCar for Mi-Jack Conquest Racing, and competed in Formula 3 Macau, accumulating 38 starts across five seasons from 1995 to 2002.[1]
Redon took two podium finishes across his career. His main body of work came in International Formula 3000, where he made 20 starts for Super Nova Racing over 1996 and 1997 and scored one podium. He later moved to IndyCar, competing across all 17 of his starts on oval circuits for Mi-Jack Conquest Racing in 2001 and 2002. He finished 15th in the 2002 IndyCar standings and added a second podium during that final season of his racing career.[2]
Redon regularly raced against Ricardo Zonta, the 1997 International Formula 3000 champion and 1998 FIA GT champion, though he typically finished behind him. Against established professional Cyrille Sauvage, a Bronze-graded driver with International Formula 3000 and GT racing experience, Redon usually came out ahead. He beat Gil de Ferran, a fellow established professional with 31 IndyCar starts and 17 Formula 3000 starts, three times across their meetings.
