Christian Pescatori is a professional driver whose career spanned 11 seasons across single-seater and endurance racing. He competed in International Formula 3000 from 1994 to 1996, racing for Durango in a mixed field of amateurs and professionals, and then moved into the FIA GT Championship where he spent the bulk of his career from 1997 to 2009, primarily with BMS Scuderia Italia in shared-car endurance racing. His record shows 86 starts and a single podium finish.[1]
Pescatori raced consistently in the FIA GT Championship over 13 seasons, accumulating 60 starts in that series. In Formula 3000 he made 26 starts across three seasons without podium finishes before stepping up to endurance racing. His final indexed appearance came in 2009 when he took part in one round of the FIA GT Championship before finishing 29th in the final standings.[2]
In endurance racing he raced among a field mixing amateurs and semi-professionals with established professionals. He typically finished ahead of entry-level professional Gerold Ried in direct competition and held his own against Mike Hezemans, a professional-graded driver with whom he was closely matched. Against the strongest drivers he encountered, he recorded isolated results; he finished ahead of Allan McNish, an established professional who has raced in Formula 1 and at the top level of international endurance racing, on one occasion, and beat Alex Caffi, a former Formula 1 driver, once as well. His primary team was JMB Racing, an established endurance outfit with six race wins across the index.
