Tristan Nunez is an established professional sportscar driver whose rating of 5,141 places him among the established professionals at the top level; his FIA Gold categorisation confirms full-time standing in endurance racing. His career spanned nine seasons from 2010 to 2023, with nearly all of his 56 starts concentrated in eight years of IMSA WeatherTech competition for Performance Tech Motorsports. He secured two wins and twenty podiums across 55 starts in that series, averaging a fifth-place finish; a single outing in the 2010 SKUSA SuperNationals completed his record without result.[1]

Nunez raced consistently against the strongest field in North American sportscar competition. His head-to-head record against multiple Platinum-graded professionals who won IMSA championships tells the story of a driver holding his own in an elite field but falling short at its pinnacle. Against Ricky Taylor, a five-time IMSA champion, Nunez finished ahead in fourteen of forty-five shared races but trailed in thirty-one; against Dane Cameron, a champion across three IMSA categories and a driver rated notably higher, he took twelve wins to Cameron's twenty-seven across thirty-nine races. He split head-to-head results with Pipo Derani at sixteen wins each, and showed a marginal advantage over Renger van der Zande with eighteen wins to twenty in thirty-eight meetings. These patterns mark him as a capable mid-field competitor in the strongest sportscar fields rather than a title contender. He finished ahead of elite drivers including Alex Palou, a four-time IndyCar champion, and Scott Dixon, an IndyCar champion and sportscar frontrunner, but these were isolated results in the context of his career.[2]
