🇺🇸 Jonathan Bomarito

Jonathan Bomarito is an established professional rated as Platinum under the FIA's endurance sportscar grades, placing him at the full-professional level. He races primarily in IMSA WeatherTech, a national multiclass endurance championship in which he competed in DPi, LMP2 and P class prototypes for PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports across nine seasons from 2014 to 2022. He also raced the WEC's LMGTE Pro class for Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK and competed in the Star Mazda Championship early in his career.[1]

Across 73 starts Bomarito took 6 wins and 18 podiums, with the bulk of his record assembled in IMSA WeatherTech over 68 starts yielding 6 wins and 17 podiums. His sole WEC podium came in 2019, his final season in that series; he finished 9th in the WEC championship that year after 2 rounds. His career in single-seaters spanned two Star Mazda starts in 2004 and 2005 before moving into endurance racing.[2]

Bomarito ran regularly against established professionals throughout his IMSA career. He was closely matched with Dane Cameron, a multiple IMSA champion, but finished more often behind Ricky Taylor, himself a four-time DPi and P class champion. He beat the Formula E and WEC LMP2 champion António Félix da Costa twice in their meetings, and finished ahead of Laurens Vanthoor, who would go on to win the 2024 WEC Hypercar title, in their single race together.
