🇳🇱 Henkie Waldschmidt

Henkie Waldschmidt is a Dutch racing driver who competed as an established professional in single-seater racing across the Formula Renault Eurocup and Formula 3 Euro Series between 2006 and 2009. He raced for Prema Powerteam in the Eurocup and SG Formula in Formula 3, combining 56 starts across both championships.[1]

Waldschmidt took one win and two podiums across his career, both podiums coming in the 2007 Formula Renault Eurocup season in which he finished seventh in the championship. His record in the Formula 3 Euro Series yielded no wins from 32 starts with SG Formula across the 2008 and 2009 seasons. His single victory came in the Eurocup, where he was closely matched with professional rival Mika Mäki across their shared races in both series.[2]

He raced against several drivers who went on to significant careers in international motorsport. Daniel Ricciardo, who would become an elite professional and Formula V8 3.5 champion, finished ahead of him three times in their Eurocup meetings, while Nico Hülkenberg, the 2008 Formula 3 Euro Series champion, was beaten once by Waldschmidt in their encounters. Waldschmidt was a regular opponent to Brendon Hartley, who would later win the 2007 Eurocup title and go on to race in Formula 1 and the World Endurance Championship; Hartley typically finished ahead in their head-to-head meetings.
