🇲🇨 Stefano Coletti

Stefano Coletti is a professional road-racing driver from Monaco, rated Gold by the FIA for sportscar and endurance competition. He spent twelve seasons in single-seater racing across Formula 3, GP2, GP3, Formula V8 3.5 and IndyCar from 2006 to 2017, amassing 163 starts and winning nine times. His longest tenure came with Racing Engineering in GP2, where he scored seven wins and fifteen podiums across six seasons.[1]

Coletti's breakthrough came in Formula Renault Eurocup and Formula 3 Euro Series in the mid-2000s, then moved through the junior single-seater ranks with consistent results. He contested GP3 in 2010 and Formula V8 3.5 in 2009 and 2010, taking podiums in both. His primary racing years were in GP2 from 2009 to 2014, where he fought regularly against established professionals including Julián Leal and Rio Haryanto, a Formula 1 driver and later multiple IndyCar champion; he was closely matched against both. In 2015 he moved to IndyCar with KV Racing Technology, completing the full season across 16 rounds and finishing 24th in the championship standings. His last single-seater start came in Formula 2 in 2017. He finished ahead of Max Verstappen on one occasion in FIA Formula 3 European racing and beat multiple IndyCar champions including Alex Palou in the 2015 season.[2]

His racing brought him to a field dominated by drivers who would go on to Formula 1 and multiple IndyCar titles. Coletti held his own in GP2 against peers bound for the highest categories but did not progress beyond IndyCar's middle order. He remains the first Monégasque driver since Louis Chiron in 1931 to have won a race in Monaco.
