🇨🇭 Simon Trummer

Simon Trummer is a Swiss professional driver and FIA Gold-graded endurance racer who spent thirteen seasons competing across single-seaters and multiclass sportscar racing. He raced primarily for Rapax in GP2 and GP3, and for PR1 Motorsports Mathiasen in the World Endurance Championship and IMSA WeatherTech Championship, where he drove prototypes in the DPi, LMP2 and P classes.[1]

His career spanned 2010 to 2021, with 163 starts across six series. In single-seater racing, he completed 93 starts in GP2 and GP3 combined, taking a single podium in GP2 over four seasons with Rapax and Arden International. In endurance racing, he accumulated 70 starts in the WEC, IMSA WeatherTech and German domestic series. His most productive period came in IMSA WeatherTech, where he secured three wins and four podiums across 23 starts between 2018 and 2020. He also raced the Nürburgring 24 Hours four times and competed in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, where he drove BMW one-make cup cars and GT3 machinery. His final indexed season was 2021, when he raced two rounds of the WEC and finished 26th in the championship standings.[2]

In single-seater competition, Trummer raced alongside drivers who went on to Formula 1 and higher professional ranks; he finished ahead of Pierre Gasly, winner of the 2016 GP2 championship, twice in their meetings, and ahead of Mitch Evans, the 2012 GP3 champion, fifteen times across their shared races. In endurance racing, he was a regular opponent to Felipe Nasr, a two-time IMSA WeatherTech champion, though typically finished behind him. Trummer's most consistent company came from Rio Haryanto, an established professional and FIA Platinum-graded driver, with whom he remained closely matched across multiple seasons.
