🇺🇸 Corey Fergus

Corey Fergus was a professional endurance and sprint racing driver, FIA Silver graded, competing in IMSA's national championships and Porsche's one-make series between 2017 and 2020. He spent most of his career in the IMSA Pilot Challenge GS class, driving GT4-specification production-based sports cars for Motorsports In Action, and made five starts in the higher-tier IMSA WeatherTech GTD class in 2020 for Compass Racing before stepping away from professional racing.[1]

Across 24 starts, Fergus finished on the podium six times. His strongest season came in 2018 and 2019 combined in the Pilot Challenge, where he took five podiums from 17 entries for Motorsports In Action, a competitive team that fielded multiple drivers alongside established professional Spencer Pigot. He also started twice in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge in 2017 and took a podium in its GT3P class. In 2020 he stepped up to the WeatherTech series, the top tier of IMSA endurance racing, but recorded no finishes across five attempts in the GTD class.[2]

Fergus ran closely matched against semi-professional and professional regulars in his primary series. He finished ahead of Chase Briscoe, an established professional and former NASCAR Xfinity champion who carries 226 starts in NASCAR's top series, on four occasions; the meetings came through shared-grid endurance racing where single-driver performance can be masked by co-driver contribution. His most frequent opponents were Jeff Mosing, a semi-professional with extensive IMSA experience, and Alan Brynjolfsson, a professional and 2022 IMSA Pilot Challenge GS champion, against both of whom he split results evenly.
